Lead Consultant & Founder

Shani Hall is the founder and Lead Consultant at Aurora Waves, bringing more than 36 years of cross-sector experience to her work with organisations, communities and projects.

Her career has spanned legal services, financial services, human resources, organisational systems, project environments, operational management and community development. This breadth of experience gives Shani a valuable perspective: she understands both the strategic decisions that shape an organisation and the practical realities involved in turning those decisions into action.

More recently, Shani’s work at grassroots level has strengthened this experience with direct insight into the challenges and opportunities facing communities, development trusts and smaller organisations. This combination of senior professional experience and hands-on community understanding is central to the Aurora Waves approach.

Shani works closely with clients to bring structure and direction to ideas, navigate complex projects and develop practical routes forward. Her work can range from early-stage strategy, governance and project planning through to stakeholder engagement, funding development, operational improvement and hands-on delivery support.

As Aurora Waves’ Lead Consultant, Shani remains directly involved throughout an assignment. Clients benefit from a consistent point of contact, senior-level expertise and personal accountability rather than being passed between different members of a large consultancy team.

Her approach is collaborative, pragmatic and grounded. Rather than simply producing recommendations, Shani’s focus is on helping organisations understand what needs to happen next — and then supporting them to make it happen.

Amber Maleary works alongside Shani as Associate Consultant at Aurora Waves, providing additional expertise and delivery capacity where projects benefit from strong organisation, systems and coordination.

With a particular focus on workflow systems, structured reporting, project tracking, data handling and operational coordination, Amber helps turn complex or busy areas of work into clear, manageable processes.

Her role is particularly valuable where a project needs more than strategic advice alone. Amber can support the practical systems behind delivery — helping to organise information, establish effective ways of working, track progress and create reporting structures that give organisations greater visibility and control over their projects.

Working collaboratively with Shani, Amber’s skills complement Aurora Waves’ wider strategic, project management and community development expertise. This allows the consultancy to offer clients additional hands-on capacity while retaining the personal and flexible approach of a small consultancy.
